Outside, snow’s falling down
Covering the leaves on the ground
As I’m gazing at the snowflakes’ dance
My thoughts travel to the past
It’s just one of these days
When memories rush through
Thinking of people and places
That left a mark on you
On my wall there is an old photograph
Of a friend of mine, oh, how we used to laugh
Meanwhile the snow keeps drifting down
Reminding me she’s no longer around
How memories can hurt sometimes
And then again they shine
Moments so divine
Yet gone for all time
Those days of the past
Hold memories that last
We live and learn
As pages turn
And my memories
Are falling like the leaves in autumn
So colourful, whirling all around
Drifting, swirling to the ground
Where they’re forever to be found
The window’s reflection shows my face
Where both pain and joy left some kind of trace
There is an eyelash on my cheek
I blow it away wishing secretly
That someday by surprise
We’ll meet in a close embrace
The same sparkling in our eyes
That time can’t erase
Those days of the past
Hold memories that last
We live and learn
As pages turn
And my memories
Are falling like the leaves in autumn
So colourful, whirling all around
Drifting, swirling to the ground
Where they’re forever to be found
It’s just one of these days
When memories rush through
Thinking of people and places
That left a mark on you
